Irrigation Design This is the big leagues; if you have worked with irrigation systems before and have a Grade 12 matric certificate with a good maths component, then this is your course. Drawing to scale using a scale rule and a compass. Getting to know your site and working out your water pressure. A look at drip and porous irrigation systems. Drawing up an accurate irrigation design drawing. Determining sprinkler head coverage. Determining the size of pipes to use. Determining the number of zones. Finding a place for the valves and the manifold. Electrical installation for an automatic system. Maintenance of an irrigation system. Watering seasonal adjustments. Rainfall patterns. Climate.
